Our bear family and our extended family have dealt with love, loss, and sickness, but these bears have come through stronger and closer. After our tonsillectomies, we had a few good weeks, then a major heartbreaking sickness and loss of a special family member. Followed by some intense extended family bonding time and learning to work together in a different way. During which time Granny Bear, after nearly a century of independence, decided it was time to go to the nursing home. She made that move and adjusted well. It was then time to start school, Brother Bear at a new school and Momma Bear finally moving back to her FAVORITE subject... SCIENCE!!! And then another scary illness and long hospital stay for GanGan. And throughout it all, Nanna continued her fight with breast cancer and looks like she will come out on top.
Oh how the time flies when you are...
cleaning,
cooking,
loving,
playing together, gardening (in our own way),
watering,
visiting an old and some new friends at the zoo,
napping wherever we get the notion,
sporting a new haircut from Pops,
breaking down walls,
starting school (big 3rd grade!!),
wanting a backpack like Bubby has,
reading Will Solvit,
working for Poppa Bear,
cooling off,
scaring Cousins,
and last but certainly not least...
enjoying a picnic breakfast of champions... powdered doughnuts and milk!!!
A whirlwind of life with lots of bumps and curves, but nonetheless a summer of love and growth together. Sister Bear taught us to believe with her "confessions" of who she saw and talked to during Aunt Sara's brief illness and death. She made sure we knew Jesus was with Aunt Sara every step of the way and that we were being watched over too. Through all the tears and questions, our Bear Family has come together stronger than ever, our love is evident every day. We are amazing!
Love and prayers to all!!
Momma Bear
